Just a few informal musings about some of the wines we've tasted and enjoyed:
Chateau Chambert
Orphée
A fabulous wine - one of our very favourite Cahors wines. It must be opened well in advance to fully develop its flavours - about 24 hours is best so you need to plan this tasting event n advance, but well worth waiting for!
Goes well with everything because we love it!
But fantastic with our favourite local fillet of beef or the rib roast we had on Christmas Eve!
We drank a 2001 but this wine can be kept for 20 years.
100% Malbec Prestige wine.
Vines: 35 years old and more.
Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
Around 24 EUR a bottle.
